Mendeley

Mendely is another bibliographic tool that works with Windows, OSX, and Linux. It has some nice features and is particularly suitable for online bibliographic collection and collaboration.

Endnote and Openoffice

The new Endnote (X3) supports Openoffice. This is a positive development.

NoteExpress

A good bibliography software. As far as I can tell, it has all the functions of Endnote with only a fraction of its price: http://www.reflib.org/

It still has some rough edges (the journal templates do not work as expected, for example), but looks promising.

Zotero 1.02

Zotero 1.02 is out. It fixes some bugs and adds more styles. Very cool.

Zotero again

Cool. Zotero 1.0 is out. It fixes the problem with the ASA reference style. My next paper will be done in OpenOffice+Zotero!

Wow, it's finally here...

A reference manager integrated seamlessly with OpenOffice, on all platforms! Its name is Zotero: http://www.zotero.org/. There is no need to stay with MS-Office just for the convenience of Endnote, and there is no need to stay with Windows just for the combination of Office and Endnote.

It has some very nice features that neither Endnote nor NoteExpress has, such as grab more than one references from google scholars. I realize this is something serious ...
